Also, by 4 the ballroom wasn’t set and they were still setting up decorations by the time we started rehearsing at 5 – which worried us a lot since our guests were to start arriving at 5:15. Although it's 9 months later than we were hoping, we cannot WAIT for our wedding next Feb at Whitby! He completely exceeded our expectations, and the day of the wedding he helped to keep us on track, and really made it possible for us to have every detail of the wedding that we wanted, happen. The food, atmosphere and execution were all top notch and I would recommend this place ten times over. We went with open bar and a pasta station with a few passed hors d'oeuvres. We were sold when we saw the wedding packages they offer. On the day of the wedding, Ralph and the rest of the staff had everything organized and laid out, including our table cards, guestbook, card holder, and special champagne flutes we wanted to use. Ralph, Courtney and Nikki we so accommodating and went above and beyond to work with us to make sure everything was just the way we envisioned it! Ralph was thoughtful enough to personally bring us some of the food we missed during cocktail hour. They really should work the gratuity into the contract like the other castle venues we looked at. We didn't think this was a bad thing though, we actually loved the fact that we were able to make this place our own. Availability for Fall/Winter 2020 dates may be impacted by the current climate. It’s also heated, partially enclosed and had cute little lights hanging. (9-2-17). We couldn't ask for anything better. The exterior is breathtaking and the ballroom is to die for. Ralph, Janet and their team are very easy to work with and you never feel pressured. To be honest, I was a little fearful after Linda left because it took us a long time to get in touch with someone, but as soon as I got in touch with Ralph I was put at ease. They really do take care of everything - including you - so you can relax and enjoy your special! There was a minor glitch with the salad. We had a band play the reception and they had plenty of room for all 7 of them to set up and we never felt like it was too crowded. Ralph was wonderful to work with and we received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. The ballroom looked stunning and all of our signage, candles and favors were set up perfectly. The food and cake was also awesome, my family commented on how they appreciated that the serving staff wore white gloves and served the entire table at the same time. The food was unbelievable, everyone was amazed with how great the food was. Now, there were definitely some major mishaps the day of our wedding that added a large amount of stress to an already stressful day. All of our guests raved about it I've been to many halls and my husband and I both worked in hospitality for years .... so when we say it was a DREAM wedding from start to finish we mean it! The castle is a gorgeous backdrop for photos and the ballroom is clean and fresh looking with dark wood floors and tons of light pouring in.
